Bike Riding Strides

Today we had some major accomplishments made in the bike riding department in our family!  We took a little trip to the tennis courts to save Mom and Dad's sanity.  Nate wanted to take his bike, which to this point he has just been pushing with his feet on the ground.  While we were there I told him to put both feet up and pedal...And he PEDALED!
When we came back for lunch, Zane wanted to ride his bike.  We were pretty shocked.  A couple of weeks ago, we decided that the training wheels were hindering not helping him ride so we took them off and threw them away.  After much threatening and wailing and gnashing of teeth, and that was just from Mom and Dad, to get Zane to try.  He was crying and I am sure that the people in the apartments around the tennis courts thought we were horrible people for forcing our child to ride a bike.  We knew he would love it if he could just get over his fears and ride.  He rode a little bit and then wouldn't try again.  We took his bike home for Thanksgiving so he could show his grandparents his new skill.  However, he just wanted to ride the scooter and we had to threaten to take the scooter away to get him to even try.
Then today, he wanted to ride.  Mike took him back to the tennis courts and he was riding all over.  It was Zane's idea to come back and get me so I could see him.  I went back with him and caught this video.  Zane is so proud of himself to.  What an accomplishment!

I couldn't be prouder of Zane for facing his fears and overcoming them so he could ride a two wheeler!  My boys are just getting so big and gaining so many new skills.  I love them so much and am so proud to be their Mom!
