January In Pictures

I have been really bad about posting lately, so I thought I would give a review things that have happened in January through pictures.

Zane is definitely a child of the high tech era. He loves Daddy's IPod. Whenever Mike has out the IPod and headphones, Zane follows him around pointing to his ears. He loves to put the headphones on and dance around the house. He even likes the earphones you put directly in your ears. Also, notice the slippers. He got Lightning McQueen slippers for Christmas and he loves wearing them all the time. (1-5-08)
I am the secretary in our primary presidency. We decided that this year to celebrate the kids birthdays we would have a cake with "I Am A Child of God" pencils as candles. My mom helped, well made the fake cake while I watched and gave moral support. The kids think it is really cool to pull the pencil out of the cake. Thanks Mom! (1-6-08)

We love Zane's high chair. I have to say, that when Mike came home from a garage sale, that I sent him to to just look for a high chair, with this high chair he got for under $20 I was not a fan. It is not the cutest highchair, and it definitely is not small and compact. When we were offered another high chair for free, I jumped at the chance to get a better looking one. However, the ugly chair is Zane's favorite. The free one got sent to my parent's house, which he uses there all the time, but since he can climb in and out it didn't work for our house. Also, the chair comes apart and becomes a table and chair. Zane loves it and the other day I caught him doing puzzles at his own table. I say "doing" puzzles, but more he was just eating them. Oh well, at least he was having fun. (1-7-08)

Everyone in our family were in desperate need for a haircut. On the 8th we made a family trip, including Randall to go see Kristy DeWitt to get our hair done. This was the first time that Zane had his hair cut by anyone other than Grandma. I was holding Zane so I asked Mike to take some pictures. Instead he decided to just take a video. The video isn't great but it documents Zane's first experience with a cape, clippers and not just standing in the sink to get his hair cut. By the way, thank you Kristy for doing such a great job on all of our hair. We all love our new dos. (1-8-08)

Mike went and played church basketball on the 15th. Later that week, Zane found daddy's basketball shoes in the closet and wore them around the house while Mike was at work. He thought he was big stuff and loves wearing Daddy's shoes. (1-17-08)

Zane and Daddy have a great tradition on Saturday mornings. Zane loves to have daddy get him out of bed and wants to do everything that Daddy does all day long. However, nothing can get started without their Saturday morning dance. Mike turns the music on and Zane runs over to have daddy pick him up and dance. He does not want to dance with Mommy, just Daddy. (1-19-08)

Zane is getting to the phase where he wants to help doing things around the house. Mommy was doing laundry and Zane wanted to help. Mommy would hand him a piece of clothing and tell him which pile to put it in and he would run put it in the pile. It took a LONG time to sort the laundry, but Zane loved it. Then, since Mommy wouldn't let Zane sit on her lap, he decided to climb into the laundry basket. Then he decided that it just wasn't comfortable enough so he ran and got a pillow and blanket. He sat in the basket and watched Mommy for over a half an hour, just as content as can be. (1-24-08)

Wow, we had a pretty busy month with all the sicknesses in the families and with Gavin Sprague in the hospital and Ayla Burnham having RSV. We can't believe how fast the month flew by and are amazed that anyone actually sat down and read our realllly long post. Thanks!
