Time flies when you're having fun and so you know time is flying around here. Nate is another month older and growing like crazy. This month Nate was sick quite a bit, but seems to be over the worst of it.

When we went to the doctor he weighed in at around 22 pounds.

Feeding Habits:
On April 1st, Nate graduated from feeding therapy. He has made some major improvements. Pa has been teaching Nate how to do use his tongue better while they play. Thanks to Pa, Nate is now a pro at sticking his tongue out all the way, clicking his tongue and is working on rolling it like a taco. We are very excited by these new tricks. He has tried all kinds of new foods. He loves making big messes with cookies, eating all kinds of fruits, and juices.
Sleeping Habits:
I went in to check on Nate one morning and found him still asleep, even though Zane was already awake. I had to double check that he was breathing when he had the blanket on his head. Good thing he has a light blanket.Any Firsts:
When we went to see Dr. Werther, we had to get some blood work done to check for the flu and his cbc to see if he was throwing up just because of the antibiotics he was on or because of something else. The doctor was worried enough that he came in and drew Nate's blood. He said he hadn't done it in years, but didn't want us to have to go through more trauma by getting bloodwork done at a lab. Nate did really well and hardly cried. He really liked getting to drink juice in his bottle while we were trying to keep him hydrated.
On April 11th, we went for a boys hair cut trip to see Kristi. Nate was starting to get some long hair over his ears, so we thought a trim was in order. He was a little unsure about what was going on, but he was a pretty good sport. We are glad he is finally getting some hair growing in thick on top and getting rid of the balding old man hair do.
A big first this month was a surprise to all of us. Nate broke his first tooth, months earlier than Zane, Michael or I ever did. In the midst of his sicknesses, he managed to stay pretty happy and break his bottom left front tooth. Zane likes to point out that Nate has "Just one tooth" and holds up one finger. We don't get to see it terribly often, but we definitely feel it when trying to get things out of his mouth he doesn't want us to take.
These pictures also show a lovely battle wound he got from trying to use a board to stand up with that wasn't meant to stand up on it's own. Of course it happened just before we were supposed to get Gifford family pictures taken. He wouldn't be a true boy if he didn't have scabs in pictures.
