From March 26th to the 30th, Papa, Grammie, Grandma, Gabe, and Stessie all went to New York for cousin Charlie's Bar Mitzvah. Then on the 28th through the 31st, Cory, Chaney, Rubi and Scottie went to Wyoming and we were home all alone. It was really of strange to be in this big house all by ourselves. However, it wasn't all fun. Zane woke up on Tuesday the 24th with what sounded like croup. I took him in to the doctor becasue I was afraid that he would get worse that night. He slept well at night that week, but his cough just got worse until Friday when he had a bad fever and wouldn't move.
Saturday morning we woke up to having had two windows in two different cars bashed in. That was just so much fun dealing with police reports and smashed glass all over while Gabe was in New York and Chaney was trying to get ready to leave. What a crazy time!
Sunday was Stake Conference, so I stayed home with the sick kids. Zane came over from Grandma's telling me that the door was open and that there was a bird. I wasn't really paying much attention to him because I was cleaning up Nate and the kitchen after he found Zane's Gogurt. What a mess!
Yes, that is a bird stuck INSIDE the living room.
I went over and got my phone to text Mike that he had to come home before he went to his meetings to come get the bird out since I couldn't. He didn't believe me. I was trying to sweep it out with a broom and the bird would have nothing to do with that. Zane was so scared that he stood in our front door and cried, which made Nate cry. I must admit that I was pretty scared of the bird myself. I would run out everytime it would fly toward me.
Our down fall was that the bird thought it could get out the windows and I couldn't get through it's bird brain that it needed to go out the door. It just kept squawking and pooping.
I think it was trying to nest on the floor or under the couch. The crazy thing was, was that the dogs were not even bothering the bird or even anywhere near it.
Finally, Mike did get home and grabbed the bird with a towel and let it go outside. It was so cute to hear Zane explain what his dad did. Daddy was the hero of the day.

All I can say is that crazy things happen when everyone leaves, so please, please everyone, don't leave us alone again.
