Decorating for the Holidays

My parents were nice enough to let us store our Christmas decorations at their house.  We picked them up over Thanksgiving and so I was anxious to put them up as soon as we got home.  Nate found a safe spot to watch the craziness.
Zane found a new use for the Cars stockings that I got on clearance last year.  What, these aren't just big socks?
Last year at Enrichment I made this fabulous garland and I was so excited to get to hang it up in my house.  It is so fun and whimsical.  I just love it!
My sisters and I decided to make advent calendars last year.  I don't know what I was doing when they made theirs, but I needed to make one this year.  Bethany was kind enough to help me put this together on Thanksgiving night, but I wasn't sure how I was going to attach the ornaments.  I found a bunch of stocking and mitten ornaments at Big Lots on clearance last year.  I was excited when I figured out a way to glue them on the board and keep everything together.

The 6 foot tree that I had since college finally broke two years ago and so last year I bought a little tree because I couldn't stand not having a tree.  It was perfect this year and fit right on our desk.  These simple decorations really made the holiday season seem real for us in our new house and the boys loved them.
