Randall's Mission Call

We got a phone call on December 17th telling us that Randall's mission call had come.  We were all eagerly awaiting this day.  Even though Me, Mom and Julie all sent off missionaries, waited for them and then married them when they got home, sending off a brother/son is quite a different experience.  Mike's last test was on the 17th and so we were already trying to decide when we were going to go home.  We decided it was not possible for us to get home that night to be there.  He volunteered to wait until we got home on Friday night, but I didn't want him to have to wait or to be in a rush to get home.  We were just fine with watching him open his call on Skype.  My parents internet was not working, so they all went to Jeff and Amy's house so that we could be on one computer and Grandma and Grandpa Despain could be on the other from Nauvoo.  It was so exciting to hear him read MEXICO, MEXICO CITY WEST MISSION SPANISH SPEAKING!  He is so excited to go and we are excited to be able to share in this experience with him.  He reports to the Provo MTC on March 17th, 2010.  We are so proud of him for the choice he has made to serve a mission and for the example that he is setting for all the grandkids.  We love you Randall!
