I thought it might be about time to post again and update everyone on how we are doing with two kids. It has been an adjustment these last two weeks. Mike got to stay home the first week. Zane loved having Daddy home all day. Grandma Ann also got to come over in the mornings to help out. On Tuesday, July 1st, Nate went to his first doctor's appointment. He did so great and didn't even cry when he had to get his heel pricked. Nate was born at 8 lbs. 8 oz. He was down to 8 lbs. even when we left the hospital, but up to 8lbs. 2 oz at the doctor's office. His height ranks in the 75%, his weight in the 50%-75% and his head circumference in the 25%-50%.

Mommy and Nate had some issues nursing and Nate was taking pumped milk from a bottle for about three days. We met with a lactation consultant on the 5th and got everything figured out. Nate weighed in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. before eating and was 8 lbs. 10 oz. after eating. Thankfully, both Mommy and Nate are doing great with nursing now. We are so grateful to Mary, the lactation consultant at Baby, Mother and More, for all of her help. We LOVE her! Also, we were so lucky to have great consultants at the hospital who even called later on check on us.

Zane is loving his little brother. When he says Nate it comes out more like "NEE." Zane wants to always know where Nee is and wants to hold him all the time. When Nate is eating, Zane wants to sit by us and tries to hold Nate. Zane pats his legs and says "Lap" when he wants to hold Nate. Also, Zane is really good at helping burp Nate. Zane gets very upset when Nate is crying and I don't pick him up right away. Zane will go to the side of the bassinet and reach over and stroke Nate's head. Zane has also learned how to give kisses. Before, he would just head butt you for kisses. Now, he actually kisses with lips and loves to kiss Nate.

There are times though, where we have to rescue Nate from Zane. Thursday, Zane thought he would climb over Nate while he was laying on the couch. Even with Mike sitting right there, Zane was so fast and was stepping on Nate's leg and pushing him into the couch cushions. Thankfully, they were on the couch and Nate didn't get hurt.

Zane, however, did decide after we came home with Nate that he did not want to sleep in his crib anymore. After two days (and nights) of Zane getting out of his crib and trying to run over to Grandma's house or laying behind his locked bedroom door, we decided that we couldn't handle it anymore. It was just not safe, let alone we were not getting any sleep. Mike went out and bought a Crib Tent for Zane's crib. It is fabulous. The first night, we set it up just before bed. Zane was trying to crawl into his crib. When we put him in it and zipped him up, Zane jumped and laughed. He still squawks a bit when we zipped him in, but is asleep within 5 minutes. Thank heavens for Zane sleeping though the night again and for his 3 hour naps:)

We have to thank our family and friends who have helped with Zane, brought in meals, or just called or come by to say hi. Aside from a lack of sleep, we are doing great.
