The Zane -Meister

(3-21-08 Note the killer Spiderman jammies. It is so hard to pry him out of his jammies. he must be related to his mom and Aunt Deanna)

Well, I haven't posted much about Zane lately, so I thought he deserved a post all his own. He is growing into such a funny kid. He has so much personality. He is always coming up with new things to surprise us. Some may think that this was just a knee brace. However, to Zane it is a hat and he thought Daddy would look best in it. I think Mike was much happier to wear it as a hat than as a knee brace. (8-11-08)

Zane has been a good helper lately. He loves to get Nate's diapers and then throw them away. He really wants to help me cook. Zane wants to be standing on a stool next to me trying to do everything I am doing. Also, he uses all his toys to "cook" with. He has figured out how to climb into his high chair with the tray on. He uses the step stool to climb up the side and sit down. Today, he climbed up into his highchair while I was making lunch. He had a sand strainer, two play rocks and a lion and tiger on the tray. When I asked him if he wanted to say the prayer for lunch, he told me, "No, I cookin'." He didn't even eat his cheese crisp, he just cooked on top of it.
Zane especially likes to watch things cook in the oven. If I put something in the oven and don't turn on the light so Zane can see in, I get chewed out. As you can see, Zane was shopping but had to take a break to check on our banana muffins. (7-23-08)Zane has been so good with Nate. In fact, most times I have to try to get Zane to leave Nate alone. Zane loves to give Nate kisses and always wants to hold Nate. As you can see by the picture, Nate loves his big brother and loves to watch whatever Zane is doing. My three boys! (8-18-08)
Zane is really into trucks and tractors and working. There has been quite a bit of road construction around our house. Now Zane thinks that we should see tractors every time we get in the car. He yells "Tractor, Mommy, tractor" constantly so I have to point out every bus and truck and motorcycle to try to get his mind off the tractors.
Of course he has to wear gloves while working since Daddy does, and Daddy's gloves are always best. (7-9-08)The last two days, Zane has decided that he is a big time crime fighter and walks around the house wearing sunglasses and carrying a big gun. Of course, the dino jammies make him look so much tougher. (8-20-08)
Our biggest achievement this week has been taking away Zane's binky except for when he is sleeping. He has done really well so far. He still asks for it every time he gets in the car and after I take it away when he gets up. We are so excited for how much more he is talking and how much his communication skills are imporving without the binky. We just hope he doesn't have a setback and revert to sucking his thumb. We know that we have a long road ahead of us before completely get rid of the binky all together, but we are proud of Zane's baby steps and Mommy's ability to stay strong even through the crying and begging. Hopefully this is one of the last pictures you will see with a binky in Zane's mouth! (7-2-08)
