On November 13th, We took our first family trip to Disneyland. Dallin had spent the afternoon with us while his parents and sister were already at Disneyland with some out of town family. He had already spent a day there and was a little tired of the go, go, go. When we got off the tram, I realized that I had forgotten Zane's ticket in the car. Mike went back to get it and so we found this Tinkerbell car outside to look at while we waited.
We got in during the parade so we were able to see a bit of it on our way to get Zane's pass. He was not happy about getting his picture taken. The picture looks like Zane is a ghost and has just seen a ghost. It is quite amusing. We met up with the Leavitts after the parade to hand off Dallin. The boys were still unsure of what this was all about and so not terribly excited. That changed really quickly. We went and got fast passes for Buzz Lightyear. Then we went off to It's a Small World while we waited to go back for Buzz. The line was kind of long and Disneyland was busy in general. We found out later that it was the first night of the Christmas Fireworks.
We got on Small World as it was getting dark. Zane and Nate were in awe trying to take it all in. As we came out of the ride, the Christmas Lights turned on. We couldn't have timed it any better. It was really pretty.
After Small World, we cashed in our Fast Passes to see Buzz. Zane was so excited to see Buzz while we were waiting and loved shooting at Zurg with Daddy. I don't know how we top that , but we tried. We then went on the Astro Orbiter and Zane loved flying the rockets!
Nate eating Mickey shaped cheese (No we didn't buy it at the park, check out Wal-Mart for the cheese, but it was a very fitting snack) I tried to get the boys to look at the camera, but they would not cooperate!
Next, we had a yummy snack and then rode the train around the park. Of course the boys loved the Choo Choo. Then we met up with Laura, Chantel and Dallin to ride Winnie the Pooh, a very cute ride.

After Winnie the Pooh, we decided to try and wait for the fireworks. We found a little spot, and I mean little to park and wait. We thought the fireworks were about 30 minutes earlier than they actually were. The Leavitt kids gave out before the fireworks and went home. If we had been smart, we would have left with them, but we stuck it out. The boys were so tired and it was so cramped. The wait was worth it in the end for Nate. He was mesmerized by them. Zane was so tired and didn't like the loud noises so he buried his head into Daddy's shoulder.
All in all, it was a fun first trip. We feel so lucky to be able to live here and be able to go back often. We were very glad that we were able to come home to our own beds and not have to drive too far. We are very excited to go back and visit again and get to enjoy all our time at Disney!
