Our Leap year was a little crazy this year. Thankfully, it only comes around once every four years. We thought, "Hey, why not make it memorable?!" So, Mike has now had three knee surgeries on only 2 knees. How you might ask? Well, on his mission he tore his right ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). Then, when I was pregnant with Zane (in January 2006) Mike had his left ACL repaired. Mike thought that it was way too fun to see his pregnant wife wait on him, so he thought that Feb. 28th would be a good time to have his left ACL repaired again. Just kidding, he really does feel bad about doing this every time I am pregnant and promises that this will be his last knee surgery for a really long time.
This time, his knee got much more swollen than the last time. He thought the pictures looked funny with his fat knee and his skinny one.
On the 29th, Hazen came over to play while his mom and Grandma took Ashlyn to a cheer competition. Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Randall were nice enough to come over and help me. Both boys loved having someone to jump with and I appreciated not having to get on the trampoline this time.
We thought it would be fun to dress the boys in matching pajamas. These are from last year, Zane has almost grown out of his, so this was probably the last time we can get a fun picture like this. The boys had a great time coloring with Stesi and watching Mike and Randall play video games.
The rest of the pictures just show how Zane and I survived Daddy working from home for several days. it was a chore to keep Zane from bugging Daddy since he wants to do everything that Daddy does. Case in point, Zane pulled Mike's beanie out of the wash and put on himself and wore it around in all different ways. Then he took it to Grandma Ann and Pa's house, since we couldn't pry it away from him.
Zane knew just what to do to cheer me up while I had some kind of a flu bug while still trying to help Mike out. Zane found the Mr. Potato Head glasses and insisted on wearing them. He was cracking me up and I think he liked it, since he wore them for a long time and keeps putting them on to get a laugh.
Just a note for all of you who might be wondering, Mike is doing much better since last week. He is still very sore and is still gimping around, trying to keep the swelling down. I think he is now getting sick of me being his nurse, since I keep ragging on him to stop doing this or to quit walking with out his brace and/or crutches. We go to the doctor on Monday to see how things are going with his knee. We hope we get a good report and an all clear to start walking without crutches.

Those pictures are great! Mike is lucky I didnt come over and wax his leg again in prep for his surgery. As I recall, I was 8 months pregers when he got the first surgery so we could have had matching pics. By the way, you have to email me those pics of the boys...they are too cute! You are such a trooper! Hang in there Kim and just so you know, I will go with poor Kim, not poor Mike. That is just the mean older sister in me :)
