Despain Christmas Party

Well, I know that we are really late posting about Christmas, but at least I am getting it done finally. Our Christmas lasted about a week and we had a lot of fun celebrating. We started with our Despain Christmas party on Saturday, December 22. We had to leave the Gifford Christmas Eve party with the Scurrs to be able to go. We decided to reveal our big Christmas present at the Party.

In case you can't read Zane's shirt, it says, "I AM GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER, ZANE!" Zane was not quite sure what was going on and why everyone wanted to see his shirt. He just wanted everyone to leave him alone. So to feel everyone in, I am 14 weeks pregnant. We are expecting our new arrival around July 2, 2008. We should be able to find out the gender of our baby in February. We are very excited.

After, our big announcement, we had a fabulous dinner of Chinese food. Then, Grandma and Grandpa Despain passed out their presents to everyone. Grandma made everyone, including the little kids, aprons. All the girls matched with apple aprons and all the boys matched with chili pepper aprons. They even brought their aprons that matched. They also gave all of the boys a new dress shirt, tie and socks. The girls were given matching jackets and Christmas socks. Grandma and Grandpa went all out this year. We are all impressed by the amount of time that Grandma put in and we all love our gifts.

After the gift exchange, it was time for the infamous white elephant gift exchange. The highlight of the exchange may have been Bret choosing the gold tube top and then putting it on!
As we were getting ready to leave, Taya chased Zane down for one last hug. Taya loves hugs, but Zane is not so sure he likes them.
