Our Busy Weekend!

Our weekend started on Friday, when we went to visit Pa. Zane has discovered Pa's Tigger slippers. He thinks that they are so fun and he loves wearing them.

Then on Saturday, we started early and didn't stop until way too late. We went to my parents ward Christmas party. It was a pancake breakfast. By the way, adding cinnamon to Krusteaz mix makes fabulous pancakes. Zane got to sit on Santa's lap, and screamed the whole time. I will post the picture as soon as I get it from my mom. Then, Zane got to play with cousins at Grandma Ann's and Mike and I went to tour the Desert Club Idea House. It was a gorgeous house and we got a ton of cute ideas for things. They had a two story playhouse under their stairs. It was sooo cool! After we got home, I got ambitious and decided to put up the Christmas tree. Zane woke up from his nap right when I started the tree. He was sure ALOT of help. Finally, I convinced him to stop decorating the tree as I decorated it. He keeps looking at the tree and saying "OOOO!" and "Look It!" every time he notices the tree.

We ran to the store to get our matching ornament for this year. While we were there, Mike's parents called to see if we could come and help clean up the Idea House. We didn't think we would be long, so we took Zane with us. We were there for 2 hours. Zane was really good and enjoyed sweeping the garages while everyone cleaned. I wish I had thought to get a picture. We had to leave, though, when his sweeping became "dodge the 18-month-old with the broom." Zane was so tired when we got home, we thought he would go to bed without any trouble. Boy were we wrong! He screamed and screamed and after going into his room two times to try and calm him down, we thought he was going to bed. He started screaming again and then we heard a thud. I thought maybe he had finally learned how to crawl out of bed, but we were hoping he just threw something. Then we hear our door opening. Sure enough, Zane climbed out of his crib and is now sporting a carpet burn on his forehead as proof. Thankfully, he did not brake anything or get more hurt. As a result, at 10 o'clock we ended up lowering the mattress in Zane's crib. This was only the beginning of a long night of no sleep, but thankfully no more climbing out of the crib. We were grateful for Sunday to rest and recoup. We are hoping that Zane sleeps well tonight!
