Holiday Tag

So my cousin had this on her blog and she tagged everyone who read the blog to put this on theirs. As a result, here are my answers to some holiday questions.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I like wrapping paper, but when time runs short I resort to the gift bags. Of course I bought some really cute gift bags for really cheap so I will be using them this year!

2. Real tree or artificial? Artificial. I am too afraid of fires and like to leave my lights on a lot and
I hate having to vacuum up the needles.

3. When do you put up the tree? As soon as I get around to it. this year it was at the very beginning of December, but last year it was just before Christmas.

4. When do you take the tree down? Whenever i get around to it. I like to leave it up a long time!

5. Do you like eggnog? NOoooooooo!

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I really can't remember too many gifts I received as a child, but I do remember some I gave. My favorite was the year that my dad and sisters and I were up late helping wrap presents on Christmas Eve. We took my mom's present...See's Nuts and Chews Chocolates, and put it in a huge box and wrapped the box in all of the leftover wrapping paper. She always knows what package we put the chocolates in so we try to fool her every year. Then, my dad made a card out of cardboard and drew a picture of an elf. We labeled the present from "Your dysfunctional elves." As I am writing this, I am thinking that this is not as funny as I remember it, but it was hilarious! Guess you had to be there.

7. Do you have a Nativity scene? Yes. It is a Fisher Price Little People Nativity that is adorable and Zane loves to play with it.

8. Hardest person to buy for? My Father-in-law. I never know what to get him. Second hardest is my Dad. I never can figure out something fabulous to give them.

9. Easiest person to buy for? My mom. I can always think of about 20 things to buy for her. I guess that is also hard because then I have to try and narrow it down. Zane is also really easy to shop for right now, but I know that will change in the next few years.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I don't think that I have ever received a bad Christmas gift. Thankfully Mike has done well and not followed in his dad's footsteps and has never given me a bug sprayer. As me later to explain if you can't figure this one out.

11. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards? I love getting mail, so I think any excuse to give and receive mail that is not bills is fun.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? In no particular order: White Christmas, Santa Claus (all three movies), How the Grinch Stole Christmas

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I try to start as early as possible to spread out the cost. This year I was done shopping for Zane before Thanksgiving. Yea!

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Of course. Sometimes you get a gift for your birthday or Christmas another year and can't use it, so why not give it to someone who can. No one has to know!

15. Favorite things to eat at Christmas? Sugar cookies, fudge, caramels, yummy breads, what about Christmas is not good to eat?

16 Clear lights or colored on the tree? White lights. Mine are all covered with white styrofoam balls to make them look like snowballs. I have a snow themed tree since we never get a White Christmas here.

17. Favorite Christmas song? In no particular order: O Holy Night, White Christmas, Silent Night, It Could Happen Again (by Collin Raye...If you haven't heard it you should), Let There be Peace on Earth, Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (because it is so fun)

18 Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay Home, thankfully for another year

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Is it sick that I can?

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? We have a Snowman, it's a snow themed tree.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? We do a White Elephant exchange with my family on Christmas Eve so we can open a gift.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Some of the really annoying Christmas Songs that they play on KEZ 99.9.

Thanks for the tag! Dont know if I will get to it, but it was fun reading your answers. Congrats on Mike finally graduating! It was a good moment for me when we were finished. The only difference is that Cody was really DONE. Enjoy the break!
