Another month has come and gone. Where has the time gone? My little baby isn't so little anymore. Nate is crawling every where and enjoying his new freedom. He has had a big month of firsts, some more welcome than others. Nate now weighs 19 pounds and 12 ounces. Nate got to watch his first Superbowl this month.

Eating Habits:
Nate started eating vegetables this month. He is still not quite too sure that he likes green beans, but he loves squash, carrots and sweet potatoes. He is predominately on the bottle with mostly Mommy's milk, but some formula. He still eats about 4 ounces every two hours. We went to see the feeding therapist this month. She thinks Nate might have a mild case of reflux. She also thinks that the Playtex nipple that he is using is making his mouth too tired. This could be why he only eats a little bit so often. We are going to try the Avent bottle and so far he likes it and is starting to eat a little more at a time. Also, we went to see Dr. Werther to get some medicine on Feb. 23rd. We are going to try Zantac for a month and see if it helps.

Sleeping Habits:
Nate still wants to be swaddled to sleep. If we give him formula before bed, he will sleep through the night. He even slept through the night with an ear infection. Mommy is so thankful for the sleep. Once this month Nate even slept 14 hours. He slept in until 10:30 am! I had to keep going in to make sure he was still breathing. Normally though, Nate gets up around 8:30. He is ready for a nap about 2 hours after he wakes up. If we are at home and he goes to sleep in his crib, he will sleep for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Then, 2 hours later he is usually ready for another nap. If I am lucky, Zane decides that he will nap also and they will both sleep for at least 2 hours. By 7 pm, Nate is ready for his bath, bottle, blanket and bed.
Firsts This Month:
While we were in the waiting room, Nate woke up with green goop in both of his eyes. I started to clean it out and then thought better and decided to leave it for the doctor to see. Nate was diagnosed with pink eye in both eyes and an ear infection in his right ear. He was really a good baby for being sick, except he hated taking the medicine and having eye drops. Zane has been so cute with him though. While I put eye drops in Nate's eyes, Zane holds Nate's hands and sings I Am A Child Of God to him. It melts my heart.
On January 31st, Nate started crawling full time. He is so happy being able to move around and get what he wants. he is getting really fast too. Nate has such a funny crawl, you just have to see it, I can't even describe it. he loves to crawl over anyone or anything that is on the floor. One of his favorite things is to crawl in to find Mommy in the bathroom. He gets the biggest grin on his face when he comes around the corner to find me.
Nate also has started pulling himself up to standing against almost everything. He wants to get down off of people's laps so that he can pull himself up on their legs and stand there. Sometimes he gets stuck, but he sure enjoys himself.

We love you Nate!
