Zane's Allergic Reaction

We thought it was so funny when Zane wanted a party after his ear tubes were put in. It was strange that he stayed up for 14 hours on the day he had surgery. But, when he stopped taking naps, was manic and had more energy then any other kid I know, we started to get suspicious. I thought we were crazy to get tubes put in his ears if it made him feel this much better that he was so hyper. Finally, my mother-in-law pointed out that Stephanie was the same way after she was given barbiturates when she was little. She sat and changed channels and bounced off the wall for more than 24 hours straight when she was given a large enough dose to knock out an adult. We knew we just had to wait until the medication was out of his system. For Mommy, that day did not come soon enough. 96 hours after the surgery, Zane took a 3 hour nap. I was so happy the next day when my little boy was back.
I would put Zane and Nate down for their naps and Nate would sleep and Zane would play and yell. When Nate would wake up, Zane wanted to be in the same bed. This is what they would do.

Now we laugh about this, but at the time I thought I was going crazy.
