Nate is 5 Months Old!

Nate is actually 5 1/2 months now, but I just had to take the time to sit down and catch up on all of our activities. I was waiting to go weigh Nate before posting, but so far I haven't done it. I do not own a scale, so it makes it a little bit hard to weigh him.
This past month was a big month for Nathan. On November 4th, Nate grabbed onto his toy rings and held on for the first time. He was able to get the rings in his mouth and seemed very pleased with himself.
Nate got to go down the slide at the park with Mommy on the 6th. He really seemed to enjoy the thrill.
He rolled over for the first time on November 13th. I was on the phone with my mom and I had left Nate on the ground. All of the sudden, Nate rolled over from his back to his tummy. Zane was so happy for him and cheered him on and then got down to play with him on the floor. It was so cute!
By the 14th he rolled from his tummy to his back and by the 15th he was rolling all over the floor. My little guy is now mobile and can get to anything he wants on the floor. On Thanksgiving, we got some video of him rolling (I know, I'm a little late on that).

On the 15th, I was trying to get Nate to go to sleep and he was just not interested. I put him in the swing to see if the motion would help him get tired. This is how he fell asleep.
It was so funny to me, maybe just because it was the middle of the night. Right after I took this picture, I tried to take some video and woke him up. Thankfully he went right back to sleep. It is a good thing that kids are so cute, or they wouldn't last through their parents' sleep deprivation.
We have been trying to get Nathan to take a binky. It is kind of a paradox to me since we are trying to wean Zane of his but force one on Nate. Zane was just so happy with his and we think Nate will like it too if he just figures out how to keep it in his mouth. On the 19th, Daddy had a great idea of giving him the bigger sized binky to see if he liked it better. And you know what? He did! I went to get the camera to take a picture of hte great day that Nate decided to take a binky, and this is what I came back to.
Nate body slamming Daddy. he really is all boy and is already taking lessons from Zane on wrestling.
Neither seem to mind it though. Good thing Daddy likes to wrestle because his boys are going to give him a run for his money.
I wish I could report that Nate now takes a binky all the time, since he took it all that night, but that would be a lie. He still prefers his bottom lip. Oh well, I guess it will be one less thing to wean him from.

Nate still wakes up about once a night. The week of Thanksgiving he fooled us by sleeping all night for three nights. Unfortunately, this habit hasn't continued. It does give us hope though that he will get back into that pattern. He still eats every two hours and is starting rice cereal this next month. Nate is usually is up between 5 and 7 to eat and then goes back to sleep. The he is up at around 9 with Zane. He will usually take a short nap around 11 am and then a longer nap when Zane naps sometime between 1 and 3. Then he will fall asleep again around dinner time some days. After his dinner and bath at 7-ish, he is ready to go to sleep. It is a great night when he goes down at 8 or 9 and is out until at least 1 am. Hopefully we can drop this feeding altogether soon.
And because it makes me laugh...I went grocery shopping on Nov. 22nd and left the boys sleeping with Mike. When I got home, both were still asleep, even though it was 6 pm. Nate woke up soon after and we had to go get Zane up so he could have dinner and then sleep all night. I was making dinner adn putting groceries away and the boys were hanging with Daddy in the bedroom. When I went in, I found all three very intent on watching the Xbox 360. I love these three guys!
